Understanding Some Thought Processes That Go On To Lose Weight

If have ever tried to lose weight and your mind sabotages you. You chose to eat less and lose weight, then when you tried to behave in this way, your mind says, "You don't really want a salad to let's go to McDonald's." You eat a big Mac and then you say to yourself, why did I just eat that? The question you need to ask yourself is? Am I completely happy with the mind running itself or do I need to take control of it? Sometime during this “No Thought Eating” binge your conscious mind awakens to what is taking place. In most cases, you will look for what you refer to as your comfort foods, which is anything that is high in sugar, fat or both. Here is where the fun starts, what you have to do in order to change your existing negative anchored behaviors of “No Thought Eating? ” How many times have you asked yourself this self-defeating negative question “Why Did I Eat That? Once again your subconscious mind will take this answer and the correlating picture of you being overweight and use it to anchor you even deeper to your childhood program. Once again these new answers will produce empowering correlating pictures that will move you toward your weight goal.
Your anchors originated from extremely strong repetitive memory associations, which are triggered by your five senses of hearing, vision, smell, taste, and touch. The first thought that pops into your mind is: “Why Did I Eat That? The health of your body is dependent on your mental health and taking control of the subconscious is the key to lasting permanent change of any behavior For example, when you hear a certain song and it brings back a memory of a certain person or a place in time, this is an audio anchor or an anchor triggered by your sense of hearing. I wasn’t even hungry! It is true that simple, positive empowering questions = positive empowering results. Until now all of your anchors have been installed in your subconscious mind by someone else or by accident and in most cases you were not even aware of them. If your answer is I need to take control of it, then Burris MIND/FITNESS is the answer. I refer to this type of behavior as “No Thought Eating. ” Your subconscious mind will now produce a positive answer to your new positive question such as: When you are feeling fearful, guilty, angry or bored, find an activity you enjoy in place of eating. It found you ate the cookies because you were feeling fearful, guilty, angry, or bored. ” The second you asked yourself this question, your subconscious mind is triggered into action to find an answer, which in turn produces a correlating picture. ” You simply restructure your question from its negative form of “Why did I eat that? Now for the first time through the process of Burris MIND/FITNESS, you can learn how to anchor a reaction or behavior you want on purpose and consistently get the results you want over and over until you are assured of attaining your weight goal. From this time on, it is essential that you are always conscious of your inner voice, thereby insuring that all of your self-questions are positive ones and insuring that you always maintain a positive emotional state. ” to a positive form question of “How can I stop this no thought eating when I am feeling fearful, guilty, angry, or bored? A good example of this is when you are feeling fearful, guilty angry, or bored. Surprise, surprise what did it find in your subconscious eating behavior program? It is this type of behavior that is responsible for your worst eating habits. ” At the time of “No Thought Eating” your subconscious mind has given no consideration to what it is doing and your conscious mind is not even aware that anything is taking place. Regardless of weather your goal is a change in diet for weight loss, an increase in your fitness program or to take control of an eating disorder such as anorexia or bulimia. You stop your eating binge and now along with feeling fearful, guilty, angry, or bored; you are also probably a little nauseous. Have you ever met someone for the first time and noticed that something about them reminds you of someone or something else? You immediately look for something to eat, even if you are not hungry.

Anchors are the reasons that attach you to any behavior. Of course, it did because that is exactly how you were programmed as a child to react to fear, guilt, anger, or boredom. It is important to understand that your subconscious mind can be triggered into a negative anchored behavior without even pausing to consider what it is doing. This is a visual anchor or an anchor triggered by your sense of sight. You are constantly being anchored in different ways throughout your life. Let us say you come across a bag of cookies, without any hesitation you eat one and before you realize it, you are eating the whole bag.

"Fad" Weight Loss Diet

Obesity is a physical state that refers to excessive body fat. Chances are you have experienced the frustrations of dieting at least once in your life, if you have problems with your weight. Close to a hundred million Americans go on a weight loss diet in any given year and up to ninety-five percent of them regain the weight they lose within five years. Worse, a third will gain back more weight than they lost, in danger of "yo-yoing" from one popular diet to another. The conventional approach to weight problems, focusing on fad weight loss diets or weight loss drugs, may leave you with just as much weight and the additional burden of ill health. The misery it causes in this society that is so weight conscrious is just extrodinary. I have had a weight problem and know how people can hurt you with their careless remarks.  They always assume people who have weight problems overeat and are inactive. Now I know some like that but most overweight people I know are super active and even go regularily to the gym. What is the problem then?

Today, an estimated sixty-five percent of all American adults are obese or overweight. Our culture obsesses about staying thin even as we grow fatter, but this isn’t about appearances. Obesity is known to be a precursor to many debilitating health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis, and gallbladder disease. Obesity contributes to as many as 375,000 deaths every year. In addition, the public health costs for obesity are staggering. According to researchers at Harvard University, obesity is a factor in 19% of all cases of heart disease with annual health costs estimated at 30 billion dollars; it’s also a factor in 57% of diabetes cases, with health costs of $9 billion per year.  However fad diets don't cut it.  When I was heavy though I would of done most anything to lose weight with little thoughts to my health or what fad diets, gaining and losing and that whole cycle did to my body. I finally found another way.  Finding things that made it fun to move and pleasant to live in my body.  Eating more vegetables and less meat.  I am not vegetarian but I never eat more meat than the size of my hand.  Using fruit for dessert. Cutting the fats and only eating the good fats. Hydrate, hydrate, every day drink at least 8 glasses of water but I put a gallon in the fridge every morning and drink it all by bedtime.   Surround yourself with supportive friends, build a buddy weight loss, have a really good support group.

Set Realistic Goals:

No doubt you have fallen for one or more of the weight loss diet schemes over the years, promising quick and painless weight loss. Many of these quick weight loss diet programs undermine your health, cause physical discomfort, flatulence, and ultimately lead to disappointment when you start regaining weight, shortly after losing it. Fad or quick weight loss diet programs generally overstress one type of food. They contravene the fundamental principle of good nutrition - to remain healthy one must consume a balanced diet, which includes a variety of foods. Safe, healthy, and permanent weight reduction is what’s truly lost among the thousands of popular diet schemes. This is a personal confession of sorts but I saw this photo I have never been able to find it again but it went something like this: Why eat this if you can have this for the same amount of calories. I know we have all seen this saying but I was ready not to be heavy anymore.

Which would you choose?  They say a photo is worth a 1000 words. Well, it was for me. I chosse the fruits and vegetable.

Some of the weight loss diet schemes reign supreme briefly, only to fade out. Then they may become a fad again. Like the Cabbage soup diet. While some wane from popularity due to being unproductive or unsafe, some simply lose the public's curiosity. Examples of such fad diets include the South Beach Diet, Atkins diet, the Grapefruit diet, the boot camp diet,  the Rotation diet, Beverly Hills diet, Breatharian, Ornish Plan – the list goes on and on. These fad diets advocate a specific technique (such as eliminating a certain food, or eating only certain combinations of foods) in conjunction with the basic idea that the body makes up the difference in energy by breaking down and utilizing some part of itself, essentially converting matter into energy. This self-cannibalism, or catabolism as it is referred, typically starts with breakdown of stored body fat.

Which would you choose??

This self-cannibalism, or catabolism as it is referred, typically starts with breakdown of stored body fat. Personally I don’t advocate any diets. Once you put restriction on what foods you cannot eat, your body become rebellious. It begins to think that there's a food shortage, and it will go into starvation mode. Once in starvation mode it will slow down your metabolism to conserve calories. Most people think that trimming down the calories can alone shed off their unwanted excess. Probably this is because of the fad there is in advertising about low-calorie food products and beverages. What people don't know is that this could be dangerous because when they decrease their calorie intake way to below the required levels, the body begins to digest the fats. Sounds good but it doesn't actually. Burning fat requires a lot of energy. Since there is not much energy in the body to facilitate metabolism of fat, it will run at a very slow pace resulting to fatigue, illness and weak immune system. You see our bodies are programmed from an earlier time, when there wasn't an abundance of food. We had to hunt our food therefore our meals were not regular. The metabolism regulated the usage of our calories so in periods of food shortage, we tend to failed to waste away and starve. Low-calorie diet is also compensated for by the body by burning muscle. People on this type of diet who revert back to their old eating habits end up gaining back some, if not all the weight they have lost. This would consist mainly of fats. And since fats have more volume per mass than muscle, they end up having the same weight as before. In losing weight, one should keep in mind that they should lose excess body fats only. Now in this day and age, food is cheap and abundant. Our bodies aren't responsive to this. Once you skip a meal your body can endure starvation alert and slow that metabolism right down, which implies next time your eat, your body goes to hold right to those calories and store the maximum amount of them as fat. However, one can try out eating small meals at more frequent intervals. This way the body will not think that it is being starved and will not store food as fat. So, what’s the solution? There has been plenty research out there to support eating regular meals. Split those meals into 6 a day, to keep your metabolism running smoothly , Be sure to include protein in every meal (meat, ideally lean meat IE. chicken, turkey, tuna) as protein doesn’t shoot your glucose right up and plummet it back downlas sweet foods would. Keep your daily calories to a suggestion level, (check out your ideal consumption on-line somewhere). You need cardio exercise 3-4 times per week for approx 40 minutes at a time, and really necessary, you would like to try weight coaching, because more muscle you build, the more fat you burn. Women don’t freak out, I am not suggesting you become all muscle bound, just that you burn more fat the more muscle you have. Focus on training for strength rather than weight loss. Muscles burn calories when they work; they even do so at rest. Unlike fats which just lie around, bulge around the pants and dangle beneath the sleeves, muscles burn calories all-day round. With this fact, one can start weight loss by increasing muscle mass. The more muscles, the less fat will be left. This is attainable starting with working out with resistance exercises. One should also not forget to watch what they are eating. Variety must always be considered so that one may be able to get the necessary nutrients from his diet. It is also healthier to eat food which are roasted, steamed or broiled rather than fried. It is also important to include a lot of fiber in the diet. Frequent re-hydration is also necessary. Aerobics are not only good for the heart by increasing cardie-vascular endurance. Aerobics also help in increasing lean muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing excess body fat. Aside from these, aerobics make the metabolic process more efficient and its rate high, even after a long while. Imagine burning fat efficiently while driving along the freeway or even while watching television. Losing weight does not have to mean sacrifice and suffering. It actually means opening up to a more full and healthy life where one may not have to feel bad about himself having to look the way he does or not being able to do what he wants to do. Losing weight might entail a little adjustments plus the discomforts, but as the old saying goes, "no pain, no gain." Besides fat, what has one got to lose anyway? Raw Food Diet

Eating raw foods is natural. Our bodies thrive on all that is fresh and vital. A raw food diet (or increasing the amount of raw food that you eat) is bound to bring a feeling of increased wellbeing. Raw food diets are based on unprocessed and uncooked plant foods, preferably organic, such as a variety of fresh fruits and vegies, nuts, seeds, grains, dried fruit, fresh juices and purified water. Why Raw Foods? Basically a vegetarian diet, the raw food diet promotes eating and drinking ‘living’ foods. Living foods and juices contain the maximum amount of fibre found in raw produce, fibre that can be lost in processing. Such foods are easily metabolised and tend to be lower in calories than the average diet. Heating food above 116°F destroys enzymes in food that aid in digestion and in absorption of food, diminishing its nutritional value. Benefits of a Raw Food Diet A diet of at least 75% raw food offers numerous health benefits, such as increased energy, improved skin appearance, better digestion, weight loss and reduced risk of serious illnesses like heart disease, diabetes and cancer. A raw food diet contains little or no saturated fats, is low in sodium, high in potassium, magnesium, folate and fibre. Raw food diets are also excellent detox diets. Different combinations of raw, living foods and juices can be used for colon cleansing, liver cleansing, kidney cleansing and skin cleansing. The Basics of a Raw Food Diet Any fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds, beans, nuts, legumes, young coconut milk – even seaweed – can be menu items of a raw food diet. Your choice of foods may depend on your reasons for dieting, for example: - sprouted brown rice slows glucose absorption and improves the metabolism - cabbage supports healthy cellular function; radish leaves act as an anti-oxidant, as does Shitake mushroom -carrots are a great source of vitamin A as well as encouraging healthy vision and a healthy cardio-vascular system You can use a sprouter such as the Easy Green automatic sprouter to sprout seeds, grains, beans – even wheatgrass. Sprouts could be called a ‘super food’ – organic sprouts contain enormous levels of proteins, vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, chlorophyll pigments and enzymes, and are the ideal natural supplement. Sprouts can be used in salads and soups, or can be juiced. Fresh juices are a great ready energy supply and a good quality juicer, such as the Kempo Greenpower juicer, produces living juices that are full of essential nutrients. A great juicing recipe to complement a raw food diet is carrot juice with potato, fennel and apple. Simply juice 4 medium carrots, 2 apples, 1 small potato and 1 small stalk of fennel. Fennel has been shown to reduce and control inflammation of arthritis, it evens mood fluctuation and depressive states and has the rare nutrient called manganese, plus zinc and vitamin B complex. The nutritional value of grains and seeds is impressive. They contain most of the vitamins – particularly A, B, and E. They’re also fantastic natural sources of unsaturated fatty acids and lecithin, and an excellent source of proteins. You can even use soy milk makers (such as SoyQuick) to make non-dairy drinks from different beans, rice, nuts, seeds and grains to have with breakfast. If you want something a little more substantial than soy milk you can make your tofu (or, of course, visit a good health food shop). Essentially, the idea of a raw food diet is to eat unprocessed foods for at least 75% of the time. If the idea of raw food isn’t very appetising to you, you can warm the food a little as long as the food isn’t heated above 116°F. Cautionary Note As with any major change in diet, it’s wise idea to consult your doctor before beginning a special diet. This is especially true for children, pregnant women, anyone with anemia and anyone with a pre-existing medical condition. Even natural foods can conflict with certain medications, so please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you’re taking any medication. Because a raw food diet is detoxifying some people suffer a mild detox reaction including mild headaches, nausea and cravings. These symptoms may last for several days and you’ll get more enjoyment out of your raw food diet if you cut down on things like meat, sugar and caffeine a week or so before commencing the diet. Last But Not Least… A raw food diet is certainly a good way to improve your overall health and wellbeing. Like anything worthwhile it takes time, energy and commitment. Because many of the foods for this particular type of diet are made from scratch there is some preparation time involved. There are many great products on the market that can help you prepare your own living food and save you some time as well. Combined with regular exercise, a raw food diet is also an excellent weight loss method. If you’ve been feeling ‘a little off’, or just need a pick-me-up and some extra energy, then a raw food diet is certainly a good way to go. Low-Carb Diet, Should I or Shouldn't I?

No matter if it's Atkins, South Beach or some other low-carb plan, there are approximate Keywords: low-carb, low-carb, low carbohydrates, dieting, weight loss Article Body: It's no wonder that confusion reigns when it comes to the worth and reliability of low-carb diets after all the conflicting studies and confusing interpretation of the information. It seems like debates are popping up everywhere! No matter if it's Atkins, South Beach or some other low-carb plan, there are approximately 30 million Americans are on a low-carb diet. Supporters contend that a lot of carbohydrates in our diet has led to increased problems with obesity, diabetes, and other health situations. On the other hand, some attribute obesity and related health problems to over eating of calories and lack of physical activity. They also express concern that without grains, fruits, and vegetables in low-carbohydrate diets may lead to deficiencies of some key nutrients, including vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, and many minerals. It is already known that any diet, whether high or low in carbohydrates, can produce meaningful weight loss during the early stages of the diet. Keep in mind, the key to a diet being successful is in being able to lose the weight on a permanent basis. Let's see if we can expose some of the mystery about low-carb diets. Following, is a listing of some related points taken from recent studies and scientific literature. Point 1 - Some Differences Between Low-Carb Diets There are many famous diets created to lower carbohydrate consumption. Lowering total carbohydrates in the diet means that protein and fat will take up a proportionately greater amount of the total caloric intake. Low carbohydrate diet like the Atkins Diet restricts carbohydrate to a point where the body becomes ketogenic (a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that includes normal amounts of protein). Other low-carb diets like the Zone and Life Without Bread are less confined. Some, like Sugar Busters, announce only to eliminate sugars and foods that elevate blood sugar levels excessively. Point 2 - What We Know about Low-Carb Diets +Close to all of the studies to date have been small with a diversity of research objectives. Carbohydrate, caloric intake, diet duration and participant characteristics are wide-ranged greatly. Most of the studies to date have two things in common, none of the research studies had people in the study with an average age over 53 and none of the controlled studies lasted more than 90 days. +The results on older adults and long-term results are scarce. Many diet studies fail to keep track of the amount of exercise, and, therefore, caloric use while people in the study are dieting. This helps to explain the variances between studies. +If you lose weight on a low-carb diet it is a function of the calorie intake and length of the diet, and not with reduced amount of carbohydrates. +There is very little evidence on the long-range safety of low-carb diets. Even though the medical community has concerns, no short-term bad effects have been found with cholesterol, glucose, insulin and blood-pressure levels among the people in the study on the diets. Because of the short period of the studies the adverse effects may not show up. Losing weight typically leads to improvement in these levels, and this may offset an increase caused by a high-fat diet. The over-all weight changes for low-carb and other types of diets are similar. +Most low-carb diets can cause ketosis. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and confusion are some of the potential consequences. When first starting a low-carb diet some fatigue and constipation may be met and these symptoms usually disappear quickly. +Some report that you can have more calories when on a low-carb diet. Remember a calorie is a calorie no matter what you intake. When the study is not closely supervised variations will result by people cheating in the study on many factors of the study. There are three important factors I would like to re-emphasize: 1.- The over-all success rate for low-carb and other types of diets are similar. 2.- Small amount of information exists on the long-term efficacy and safety of low-carb diets despite their huge popularity, 3.- Dieters usually experience boredom with a strict version of the low-carb diet and are not able to stay on diets of low carb food. After observing the subject, a more severe and controlled study are needed on a long-range basis. The ketosis produced is abnormal and stressful metabolic state. The results may cause more problems than it solved. By picking a reliable diet, you will benefit over a lifetime of proper eating and not a weight loss quickie. An excellent rule of thumb is to look at the diet long-range and see if you can see yourself still on that diet after a couple of weeks. However, by following a diet with fat, carbohydrates, protein and other nutrients in moderation may be the best way to go and a little more exercise won't hurt either.
