The soup is hot satisfying and it helps one feel full faster. You can even eat cream base soups and lose because they are even more filling so you eat even less of your main course.
1.   When making the soups especially cream based soups use ingrediants like non-fat half and half which is really skim milk but taste richer.  Or use canned milk that is non-fat which also taste richer and creamier but are less fattening.
2.   Make your soup vegetarian leave out the meat add all the different kinds of vegetables you like. Make them homemade.
3. You can control what goes into your homemade soups and can add less salt.
4.  Try buying a food processor and a slow cooker just for making your soup. Chop your vegetables in the food processor, put it in the slow cooker over night or put it on early in the morning on low it will be ready when you come home all hot and waiting for you. You will be less tempted while you make dinner of eating something because you are starving and can't wait for the main course.
5.  Freeze soups ahead in one cup containers the kind of soups you can have are unending and they get a lot of veggies and fiber down you.
6. Vegetables are high fiber so they fill you up faster. So you are not only getting variety and you are not just eating soup.

Dance
Belly dancing in the privacy of my own living room is fun. It will put a giggle in your wiggle. Having a sense of humor and just plain having fun at moving your body makes you a winner before you ever begin.  You will burn 77 calories. Now I dance 4 x a day. I get up from the computer where I am working and I put on my Roku channel and I dance. I love the music. It relaxes me and gives me the vitality and life I need to be more creative in my work.  It works muscles I do not normally use like my abs and the core muscles of my body.  But more importantly it is fun.  So while having a great deal of fun and improving my health, in a day I burn 312 calories. This will take me around 3 months to drop a pound. But I will do it because I like to and because it fun. Next I have listed running which I probably will not do because it is hard on me and my back and knees. So I will not loss the pound easily in a day but I will lose a pound in three months. So you have to choose will you do something or nothing.
Walking the stairs in my building
I can use 110 calories walking the stair in my apartment for 10 min. a day. I do this 2x a day. I don't mind because it is not hard. I can do it here without leaving the building. I will lose one pound doing this 3x a week. I will do it as it does not require me to go to the gym or change my day a whole lot. Can do it between working. So it will take me a week to lose just one pound. But I will lose the pound and I will do the movement.
Walk outside around the building on a nice day.
We have nice walking paths and they are 1/4 of a mile. Walking I can use 100 calories per mile. So I walk at least 20 min a day outside for the sunshine and the vitamin D. So if I walk 1 x a day around the building or on an errand like I have to go to the post office every day. Then I will burn 25 calories so it will take me 4 days to lose 1 pound. But I will do this. So I will lose that pound.


Run

Running for about 1 hour at a slow pace will help you lose approximately 350 calories, depending on your body type, speed and terrain. Thus, if you run for one hour five days a week while maintaining a consistent diet, you will safely lose one pound.

It is important to understand that many people who just begin running will eat pasta and other foods high in carbohydrates in order to compensate for the exertion. They think that because they worked out so hard, they deserve a treat. After all, they justify, the pasta will help to keep their energy levels high.

However, what they may not realize is that while they are justified in thinking that the carbohydrates will infuse their workout routine with energy, they are not actually setting their bodies up to lose weight. When you burn 350 calories but intake 450 over a high-carbohydrate pasta dish, you are adding more calories to your body than you otherwise would have.

Running does, however, help to boost our metabolism and change your muscle tone so that you burn calories more efficiently. Instead of inhaling a pasta dish after a run, select instead to have a large salad and splurge for the carbohydrate-rich croutons.
Being honest I  probably won't run. I do not like high impact exercise. I do not like anything I have to think of as exercise. So I do things that are fun, as listed above. They take longer to lose the weight but then I never have to be ona diet or exercise. So I will not rebel against the whole idea and the weight comes off.


Eat In

When you eat out at a restaurant, not only are you subjecting your body to an array of high fat, high calorie foods, but you are also tempting yourself to eat a larger portion than you might normally eat. Therefore, what could be a simple 500 calories meal can easily turn into a 1500-calorie fat fest. In order to lose weight by cutting calories, it is essential that you are aware of exactly what you are putting into your body. Especially in the beginning of your new routine, it is important that you prepare your meals and monitor your level of hunger.

When eating out, generally you are in a social situation where food is not a priority – but spending time with your friends is. For this reason, people tend to eat more than they normally would. Non-dessert eaters often even spring for the extra round of calories.  Eating out used to be really important to me. Now I still eat out but I use some tricks there too. I have the wait person put half of my meal in a box before I start that is another meal for me. I have a bowl of soup before the meal. If it is a soup or salad choice I order an extra of the salad so that I can have both, that is rather inexpensive and it helps me to never overeat. I order a glass of citrus drink, like grapefruit juice and drink it before I eat my meal. I order and eat a dessert before I eat, of course half of it goes into my second meal bag. I order and eat whatever I want. I only eat out once a week on my cheat day. I always have non-alcoholic wine or beer with my meal. It adds healthy anti-oxidants to my diet and it is really filling.
One of the biggest changes I have made is I eat very little meat. I would guess that I do not eat meat at all over three times a week. Then I choose to eat fish for six meals a week or seafood.   I eat vegetarian the other four days and the days I do eat meat I make my meals stir fry, casseroles or soup.  That way when I eat my meal I get some meat but not a lot.  Since I do not measure food I can't give you specific amounts but I would guess-to-mate 4 oz. of meat per meal tops.  In a year I have lost 45 pounds that is what I measure my success rate at.

By reducing your overall calorie intake and increasing your level of physical activity, you will be able to lose those 3,500 calories without much trouble. Make sure that you stay focused, motivated and on task. You’ll shed unwanted weight in no time!

Obesity is a physical state that refers to excessive body fat. Chances are you have experienced the frustrations of dieting at least once in your life, if you have problems with your weight. Worse, a third will gain back more weight than they lost, in danger of "yo-yoing" from one popular diet to another. The conventional approach to weight problems, focusing on fad weight loss diets or weight loss drugs, may leave you with just as much weight and the additional burden of ill health.

Many of these quick weight loss diet programs undermine your health, cause physical discomfort, flatulence, and ultimately lead to disappointment when you start regaining weight, shortly after losing it. Fad or quick weight loss diet programs generally overstress one type of food. They contravene the fundamental principle of good nutrition - to remain healthy one must consume a balanced diet, which includes a variety of foods. Safe, healthy, and permanent weight reduction is what’s truly lost among the thousands of popular diet schemes.

Some of the weight loss diet schemes reign supreme briefly, only to fade out. While some wane from popularity due to being unproductive or unsafe, some simply lose the public's curiosity. Examples of such fad diets include the South Beach Diet, Atkins diet, the Grapefruit diet, Cabbage Soup diet, the Rotation diet, Beverly Hills diet, Breatharian, Ornish Plan – the list goes on and on. These fad diets advocate a specific technique (such as eliminating a certain food, or eating only certain combinations of foods) in conjunction with the basic idea that the body makes up the difference in energy by breaking down and utilizing some part of itself, essentially converting matter into energy. This self-cannibalism, or catabolism as it is referred, typically starts with breakdown of stored body fat.
The whole  reason to write these articles is to stop this madness for the men, women, and children here and every where. Mothers, Grandmothers, and friends, cook for you out of love, but because they themselves have been brain washed they spread the guilt along with the love.  I have a sign above my stove that says While I prepare this meal, I stir in an abundance of love, all guilt removed.  So know that you can lose the guilt and it will help lose the pounds.

Want to Look Good and Have Fun Getting There







The typical human form is capable of achieving a number of incredible feats that seem to suspend or defy the way science tells us things work. Athletes, through sheer willpower, can end up lifting something that their bodies should not be able to without suffering anything worse than muscle spasms. People can adapt to extreme physical trauma like four years ago I had congestive heart failure, one morning I was going to work and next thing I knew I was in the hospital and the doctors had put me out to treat me, I was on dialysis and the doctors told me I would be on it for the rest of my life. I said, "I don't believe you, I am not going to live hooked to a machine all the time. " My kidney doctor took that very well he just grinned and humored me. My heart doctor threw me out of his office said he would not treat me. Me I just started trying to get better on my own. Six weeks later I was off the machines. My kidney doctor raved on and on about me being a miracle. It has been four years now and I am abundantly healthy. It took a lot to recoup my self confidence and my faith that God and my body would take care of me. I am still trying to get some of it back. What those doctors did to me psychologically almost killed me. My body knows what it is doing if I just pay attention to it. Whenever, I don't pay attention to what my body is telling me I pay dearly. 



While, in general, these amazing feats are useful in a number of situations, there are physical reactions that some people look upon with quite a bit of disfavor. Among these “disfavored reactions” is something known as a “hitting a  plateau, when your body stops shedding pounds..”

Essentially, the “plateau” is a term used to describe a situation where the body has become incapable of losing any further weight, usually due to developing a tolerance for the amount of food being eaten.  For me this always happens when my calorie intake get too low. My body thinks I am trying to starve it to death so it says, "I am not allowing you to starve me. " Most diet books decidedly ignore the existence of the plateau, primarily because it can be seen as negating the purpose of the diet and is, therefore, bad for marketing. There are, however, ways to counteract the human body building a tolerance for training regimens and low calorie intake. 

The human metabolism, when presented with a pattern, will eventually adapt to that pattern. It is this natural adaptability of the human body that can cause the weight  plateau, particularly if the person's  eating habits and exercise routines have been altered severely. I have done this to myself by not eating enough food.  One can eat a lot if you are eating right or you can starve and not drop a pound.  As such, changing the pattern will, once a sufficient amount of time has passed, allow your eating habits and exercise routine to become effective again. This trick essentially involves confusing the human metabolism, and is often taken as a rather drastic way to get the body back to dropping those pounds without dieting. Diets do not work for anyone. If they work for a while and you gain it all back then you have not accomplished anything. Attitude is everything. If you relapse get back in there and eat right. Never go more than four hours without eating. Try and include hot soup, and a piece of fruit like a orange, or grapefruit before each meal. Include some protein in each meal. 



There are, of course, several ways to effectively alter that pattern without causing the body permanent harm. One way to lose weight if you hit a plateau is to have a cheat day. Eat whatever you like and as much of it. If you want sweets go for it. This confuses the body and it relaxes and says "Whew she isn't going to starve me after all." After eating well all week and then having Pizza or Fish & Chips for one meal. I often weigh myself the next day and have lost 2 or 3 pounds, if I didn't that is alright too. 

Adding strength and weight training and modifying one's exercise program can also help someone get past the plateau, in most cases. I usually add some heavier weights, then at least one dance class a week. I love to dance so that is just my preference. Belly dancing is just fun and I enjoy it so much I seldom think of it as exercise.  I also try and get out of the gym and go row on the river. Just getting outside helps my mood and helps me forget it is exercise.  The body will still burn through nutrients during physical activity, though the digestive system's metabolic rate can adapt such that more weight is retained rather than burned during exercise. Increasing the difficulty of the exercises, or changing the movements to target less-developed muscle areas, can effectively force the body to re-adapt. While the body is busy adapting to the changes, it can also start losing weight again. This method is best used with alterations to the person's diet, however, to maximize the effectiveness.

Another trick used to circumvent the problem of the plateau is to make changes to the time frame between meals. The internal clock that the human body's digestive system operates on can be altered to suit one's purposes, provided one executes the proper alterations to one's diet and eating habits. A simple action like altering the schedule of the meals, such as adding more meals but reducing the bulk of each, can have an appreciable effect on altering the metabolic rate. The key concept of this method is to fool the body into burning the food faster.  I never weigh so I don't know if works always but once in a while the doctors office forces me on the scale. Then I am quite shocked at the amount of pounds that melted away.  

When considering the options, it is helpful to keep in mind that what works for one person may not work for another person. Some slower metabolisms may require combination of diet program and exercise regimen modifications, while others can get by with merely shortening the break between meals. The critical point is to find a method that works and is effective for a specific metabolism, which can be a time-consuming process.

Eat what you like. For instance I do not like breakfast food in morning. I like leftovers in the morning. Soup it a big one for me it is hot and makes me feel like I have had something substantial to eat. I like pasta in the morning or pizza I love pizza with lots of veggie and goat cheese. Be sure you never leave the house without eating breakfast. Eat again in three to four hours include protein it breaks down slower and so sticks with you longer. I like breakfast foods in the evening. That is when I love bacon and eggs, pancakes, hot cereal. I eat very little meat that is not something I decided it is something my body decided. The thought of huge pieces of meat gag me. When I was really young I could easily eat a pound of steak now I never eat more than three ounces of meat. So casseroles and soups, a large salad with a hard boiled egg, they all fit my eating habits because I like a little meat but very little. 
I bought a chuck roast last week and made  borscht I found this recipe I used to make regularly I had not made it for a while because I got rid of my food processor when my daughter moved out and I hate chopping all those veggies.   Well anyway, I put all this wonderful looking beef and veggies in the slow cooker. I have eaten almost all of it now but the meat tasted like cardboard.  Next time I will leave out the meat. 


Because I eat very little meat and fill uip on veggies and fruit which I mostly eat raw except for my soup thing, I lost about 20 pounds the first year I ate that way. I did not diet I just ate less meat then my body must have adapted because it does not like meat now. I eat lots of beans, lentils, veggies, and if I feel like I have to have something sweet I usually buy myself something expensive and in my world yummy like blueberries or raspberries. So my adivise is to not to try to change everything at once just change maybe one thing like I did with the meat. The pounds will come off. When I started belly dancing and I do love to dance after a year of dancing I had dropped 10 pounds. It tooka year but so what. Before that I was always heavy, always trying to diet and failing. Now with each yearly change I make I take off a lot of pounds and it shows. 



My friend is taking horse back riding lessons. She is not so much  thinner but she has shifted the weight so she looks better in her clothes. 
So keep your eye on the prize. Forget chasing that model figure and enjoy your curves. Your goal is to feel better, be healthier, have more energy and have more fun.

Here Are Ten of my Best Tips For Weight Loss
1. Attitude is everything. So you relapsed into old eating habits. So what go on to your goal. Keep your eye on the goal on being  healthy, feeling better, having more energy. The weight loss will come whether you are perfect or not. 2.  Eat Breakfast. It gets your metabolism going for the day. I very seldom eat traditional breakfast food except at night. I prefer leftovers in the morning. If it contains both fiber and protein that is good as it keeps me filled up until noon. 

3. Don't count calories. Read food labels and measure once what your normal size portion is then use that information to judge how much you are eating. I like my food journal for keeping track of all this for me as I would never remember. 

4. Eat Enough Especially Breakfast:

Don't leave home without breakfast in the morning it is what gets your metabolism going. Eat what you like for breakfast. I tend to like left overs. I never if ever eat breakfast food in the morning. I do like it for dinner much better. So I love left over Pizza, Bean Soup or any other kind of soup. Just eat what you like in the morning. I do eat oatmeal when I want traditional breakfast food but I prefer oatmeal cookie and hard boiled eggs they are more fast food and portable. Be sure you are eating non-processed foods and you are eating enough lots of people do not lose because they are not eating enough and the body thinks it is starving so will not let go of the fat.  



5..  Diets Don't Work:  Diets do not work. Choose a new way of eating that keeps you full and you enjoy and you will lose weight.

. Just changing the wording can you I get rebellious just here help  thinking about words like diet.  I have issues with food and anyone controlling my food makes me feel rebellious. Call it a food plan,

 a life's choice, anything but a diet. 

6.  Eat Often Or More What Suits Your Life Style. Choose how often you eat by you not someone else. Experts seem to agree that you should not go more than 5 hours without eating. I had stomach surgery so my stomach is smaller. So I cannot go that long. I eat about every 3.5 hours. I can't eat as much but I do have to eat oftener. No I did not gastric by pass surgery. I had surgery for reflux and they made my stomach just a little smaller. Only through that in here as to how you need to make allowances for your special situations. 

7.  Eat Citrus and Lose. Eat a half of Grapefruit before each meal and put lemon in your water or lime. would seem so in the light of evidence pertaining to the effectiveness of lemons in improving digestion and helping the body regulate the absorption of sugar. That’s not all, it has also been found that Vitamin C is a great asset to anyone who is serious about weight loss simply because it helps the body absorb calcium into its fat cells, which in turn helps you lose weight.


8. Eat a lot of high fiber food:
It comes in two forms, soluble (the gummy type found in oatmeal and beans) and insoluble (the type found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains). Both are important to good health. Soluble fiber can help to lower cholesterol; insoluble contains indigestible fibers that add bulk to our diets. Both forms of fiber swell in the stomach and help to create a feeling of fullness. Most high-fiber foods are also high in water and low in calories, making them must-have diet foods.




9.  Invest in a pedometer. The goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps -- the equivalent of 5 miles -- daily to thwart weight gain (and promote weight loss) Compete with yourself by challenging yourself to walk 5 more steps a day.  Every step counts; remember that your goal is simply to improve your fitness level. I do things like walk the stairs in my three story building. I trick myself by taking out the trash and then taking out the recycle doubled my steps. I stop by our limited gym and ride the bike for 15 min. 



10. Start an exercise routine.  I am kind of off mine right now but I do like ten min. of belly dancing. Then maybe later in the day I walk the stairs, then I walk to McDonald's and get coffee. They have good coffee for a dollar and I do not like their menu so it does not tempt me. I do like their salads and if I feel I have to eat I eat their salad. Sometimes I just go to the gym and play in the pool. It is exercise that is  Entergizing.
